POSTPARTUM HAIR LOSS

Postpartum hair loss is also known as telogen effluvium, which refers to excessive hair shedding postpartum. This happens when hair in the anagen (active hair growth) phase prematurely enters the telogen (resting) phase, which will eventually shed.

This is a common condition where many new Moms experience noticeable hair loss that occurs about three months after childbirth and can last up to six months. For most women, the hair will grow back to its original fullness.
